To whoever survives to read this,

I’m sorry we failed you, that we started too late to make meaningful change, that we weren’t angry enough to take ourselves out of our insular cocoons and realize we were killing your future.

I’m sorry we let so many species die so we could make our lives easier by driving everywhere, even if walking was an option.

I’m sorry. Don’t forgive us, we knew what we were doing. Just not enough of us cared enough to change our lives substantially, to take this threat seriously, to try and preserve the one world we had.

29 years later, I wish I still can ride bike and go some lovely places in nature. Sky is blue and air is fresh, I will be shining under the sun.

I wish I had a crystal ball and could peep into it to see you all happy and safe in a world that nourishes you and that is also nourished by you, a world where the resources it provides are as valued as the people in it and not frittered away by greed and power.

Dear Society,

If we work together to spread the awareness of what is occurring today, we will be able to prevent it from continuing into the tomorrow.
