Hi!

First of all I apologize for my bad English, I hope my message will be clear.

I’m Italian, I’m 23 years old and my name is Giulia. I’m studying to become an energy engineer because I’m very sensitive about topics like the protection of the environment, renewable sources and so on. I always try to behave in an ethical way because I want to do my part for the protection of our planet.

Unfortunately, I see a lot of people around me that don’t understand that climate change is real and is already a big problem for the world and don’t care about the future. But how could they live happily seeing that our planet will not be the same for future generations? How could we live happily seeing that we are destroying other living beings? How could we be so selfish? I’m really worried about this situation. In particular I’m worried about what the president of the USA, Donald Trump, is doing (maybe it is better to say NOT doing) to protect our planet and to respect the COP21.

I hope I will read this letter again in a few years and say that all my fears are disappeared and that we succeeded in saving our planet. I hope my children and my grandchildren will live in a better world, with better politicians, better rules, less corruption, less attachment to money and more attention to nature, food and other people. With this letter I renew my promise to act in an ethic and moral way and to try to help other people to understand this problem.
