To my future kids,

I do not know what the state of the Earth currently is for you. Climate change might still be an issue or it might now just be a piece of history. Right now in California, life seems perfect. The sun is shining, the weather is warm and everything is just calm. However, in a broader look of the world, it is chaos. There are natural disasters, from tsunamis to earthquakes. Some states are suffering from droughts and wild fires. Temperatures are constantly increasing in some parts of the world while other parts are only getting colder. Glaciers are melting and sea levels are rising. Climate change is real and it is effecting every single person in this world.

Many people on Earth currently do not realize how drastically climate change is effecting us. Without my knowledge in climate change, I would think that the rest of the world is like California, peaceful with perfect weather. But in reality, it is not.

It is time to make a change. Time for people to be educated on a topic that is easily disregarded but has the future in its hands. Even the smallest changes made by billions of people can have a drastic impact that slows down the pace of climate change. Some of the simplest things can include: turning off the lights when they are not needed, unplugging unused appliances, wearing layers instead of using the heater, using environmentally friendly products, and more.

If my generation of people fail to prevent climate change. I hope that you kids can spread the world of the potential effects it can have on the world. Educate those around you and create awareness of this big issue and do something about it.
