To my future grandchildren,

One of my favorite things about living in San Francisco is the people there. We have a diverse community that promotes tolerance and acceptance. I could not see myself calling anywhere else my home.

California has a history of drought, and global warming plays a heavy part in that. If global warming were to continue, business as usual, our home would not be the same as I remember, and you would not be able to experience it.

I hope that we could manage our impact on climate change, so the beauty of our city can be maintained for centuries.

I promise to take the steps in my life to lower my ecological footprint, and lead through example. I look forward to meeting you and sharing my favorite hidden spots.

Be assured that in the upcoming election, I will cast my vote for your future – for elected officials that recognize climate risks and are willing to promote and vote for legislation that will stop environmental damage and begin to heal our planet.

If we could talk, I would not be able to bear your gaze as you ask: How could you, the people in a position to change the course of climate change, fail to act?

I promise to plant trees and to turn off the lights.

Dear Tara,

Each of us only has so much power and the problem is HUGE, but I worked at this every day.

Dear Future Afnan,

You should make a time machine and come back to past and solve all the problems.

Dear Hannah, Harper and future baby of Ryan and Colleen Lane,
