To My Future Children,

Today, I am a 21-year-old student at San Jose State University studying meteorology. Learning so much about climate change on a day-to-day basis, I am really worried about the future of our beautiful planet. I hope with all of my heart that this issue will somehow get resolved by the time that you are here enjoying all that life has to offer. As of now, the future of our planet depends on what we as people can do to stop climate change from happening. I will do as much as I can to make sure that you have an amazing life. People need to be educated about climate change and realize that if we do not change our way of living soon, the future of our planet will be in jeopardy. I know that climate change is real and it is happening everyday right before our eyes. You deserve to have a safe and healthy place to raise your own family. Today is a very beautiful day in San Jose with sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-70s. I hope that as you are reading this, it is also a beautiful day no matter where in the world you are. I am very optimistic about the future of our planet, but I want you to know that I will work hard to make your life as beautiful as it can be. I will get my degree in meteorology, I will get an amazing job, and I will reduce my ecological footprint. I want you to know that I am doing all of those things not just for myself, but for you also. Even though I am not quite ready to have you yet, I love you with all of my heart. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to watch you grow as your mother.

As a minister, I have preached that we are here to be of service to others and to be care takers of this wonderful planet that God has given us.

Dear tomorrow,

Unfortunately, our selfishness and excessive greed have closed our eyes to the well-being of the planet, and it has suffered the consequences.

Dear Nephew,

I believe i have truly played my part in raising awareness and practical solutions to climate change.

Dear Emilia and Tommy,

We, in our time, still have the chance to change course. We have the knowledge and emergent means, even the profitable technologies, to do so.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will eat vegan, organic, locally grown, and seasonal.
