To my daughters,

Since you were born, nothing has been more important to me than making sure you grow up to be happy and healthy. There is no doubt in my mind that, over the long term, climate change is one of our planet’s existential crises.

As you grow up, I want you to be able to enjoy the natural beauty of the world as I have – splashing and playing in clean and refreshing water on hot summer days, or enjoying the fresh crisp air during a hike through the woods on a brisk autumn day with your friends or family.

Rising sea levels and changing weather patterns will undoubtedly be even more disruptive to those who are less fortunate than you. These changes will likely lead to additional conflicts and suffering, and in order for you two be happy and healthy, we all need to work hard to prevent climate change from adversely impacting the lives of our neighbors around the globe.

To that end, I promise to continue my efforts over the past ten years to bring a new clean energy technology to the marketplace that will help play some role in making our world of tomorrow a better place.
