To future self,

Today we live in a world that revolves around money and power. Those who don’t have these two privileges lack a voice to be heard. As life on this planet exists today, nature is slowly but progressively disappearing. Certain species are becoming extinct, sea levels are rising, and temperatures are increasing at an exponential rate. This is clearly a problem but why do people not address it? Yes, there are many problems occuring in the world right now but is climate change insignificant? How can these so called “more important” issues be addressed if there is a possibility of no tomorrow?

I hope you are living in a better, cleaner world. I hope people have realized that we are the ones causing the problems that we claim not to be ours. I hope endangered species such as pandas and tigers are growing in number. Lastly, I hope we convert to a renewable energy world.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Future Grandchild,

We can learn a lot about how to treat others from stories that have been passed from generation to generation.

To my Maria and her children,

I have to tell you something: it is so hard to keep our life “green” for now, but we still keep trying.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to purchase carbon offsets when we fly.

Dear Ellie,

My heart is an ocean of love for all the children facing a life of climate catastrophe.

Dear Students,

My act of love will be to use all the power I have, during the rest of my life, to stop climate change.

To the wonder,

Dear tomorrow, thank you for letting me ride the wave of wonder that reaches toward you for all generations of all species to come.

Dear Tomorrow

I promise to educate others TODAY.

to my dearest children,

Our future is being made now, and I promise to do everything in my power to make yours safe.

Dear Tara,

Each of us only has so much power and the problem is HUGE, but I worked at this every day.

To all the people here on earth,

Who knows what the future would look like? or what will happened in the future? No one knows right? That’s why it it’s scary because we don’t know what lies ahead. We couldn’t stop the future but we can always change it.

To my children,

I am working with 350.org on shutting down the coal and unconventional gas industries in our country because I cannot think of a more direct way to protect you, the food, water and biodiversity we all love and rely on.

Dear Tomorrow,

I haven’t met you yet, but I already know you deserve a better tomorrow.
