To Future Leaders,

We currently struggle with climate change and the influence of Earth’s temperature due to burning fossil fuels, deforestation, single-use plastic pollution, and the effects of farming. All of this and more contribute to increased greenhouse gases that create a snowball effect worsening albedo, radiation, and heat reflection. We live in a time where it’s normal to breathe in aerosols that produce respiratory health disparities, and the world is not doing enough.

I hope that by 2100, carbon emissions are lower than now, and we have found even more energy alternatives than solar and wind energy. Although these are great alternatives, they are costly and, in some regions, ineffective. The world is in such a divide because of how much money is produced from these influential negative pollutions. An example of how widely interacted these influences are is creating single-use plastic such as the water bottle. Almost everything purchased comes in plastic that will be thrown away and not properly recycled. Although it is excellent that recycling is possible, we do not implement it enough. This is a continuous production of new plastic rather than melting down and recycling disposed of plastic. This increases carbon and fossil fuel emissions since plastic is made entirely from fossil fuels. The use of single-use plastic contributes to the melting of ice-caps, increased radiation, heat, and a rise in sea-levels.

I pray that by 2100 the world will realize that money will not be able to fix Earth. The only way we can work towards a better future is by implementing better environmental health policies now. Ending the use of fossil fuels and living off of local livestock and produce. The contribution from the travel of produce containing single-use plastic to our home alone will significantly impact our environment. Understand that we all need to contribute and make efforts to make this intense switch. In the long run, we will be sacrificing a little to gain a lot.

More Messages to the Future

To My Daughter and Future Grandchildren,

There are so many more things that we can do together to help our Earth from the damage that has been done, and I am so excited to teach you.

To the Future Generations,

I look at my baby niece today. The newest member of our family, just 3 days old. What will be left for her and her grandchildren?

I promise to stop eating junk food.

Dear Future,

I will use less plastic.

dear earth,

I promise those who walked the Earth before me and those who will walk the Earth after me that I will not stand by and let nature slip through my fingers.

Dear Future Grandchild,

We can learn a lot about how to treat others from stories that have been passed from generation to generation.

Dear future me,

I’m doing this work because I see it as the best way to save and improve as many lives as possible. I’m doing it so you, 2050 Ryan, can look at yourself in the mirror. And so you can tell your kids and grandkids someday that you did everything you could.

To my dear son,

Last year most of the world’s reefs turned white at some point, but because it was underwater you and your friends didn’t see.

Dear Future Explorers,

I am often faced with the question: why do I care so much about this pale blue dot that we inhabit?

Querido amanhã,

Eu quero esse mundo melhor para você, onde o povo tem voz, seja lá quem você seja, eu vou fazer se tudo para proporcionar um mundo melhor para você.

To my daughter and her children,

As a minister, I have preached that we are here to be of service to others and to be care takers of this wonderful planet that God has given us.

Dear child,

The journey of humanity does not take us to Mars like the world now likes to believe. It takes us home to our true self where there is no separate self. Where we are all one. You know all this. Look after yourself my child, look after your brother, your friends, your children, all the animals and the whole planet. Love them like there is no tomorrow.
