Queridas filhas,

O mundo hoje está muito quente. Parece que a cada dia que passa esquenta ainda mais. Nossas represas, abastecimento de água e rios agora são escassos, com muitos estando secos. Nossa interferência no clima através da industrialização causou danos muito sérios na geração dos seus avós, e a minha e de sua mãe começamos a tentar consertar esses danos.

Apesar disso, é de se orgulhar que as pessoas reconheçam que tem algo acontecendo e a culpa é nossa. Temos vários projetos para ajudar a diminuir a contribuição com o aquecimento global. Sua mãe e eu nos esforçamos ao máximo para ajudar a criar um mundo melhor pra vocês duas, e seus avós também fazem muito.

O que mais me enche de alegria é ver que, apesar dessa loucura que é nosso mundo, vocês poderão viver no melhor dele. Quem sabe o que nos aguarda, ou aguarda vocês duas quando tiverem filhos e suas próprias famílias. Há países hoje que fazem de tudo para mudar o que causaram que, há 10 ou 15 anos, nunca pensariam nisso. Vocês serão privilegiadas, e é por isso que eu e sua mãe trabalhamos.

I imagine at this point we have dropped our addiction to coal, gas, and oil and that our environment has made a turn for the better with the solar, wind, and other unimagined (at this point) alternative energy choices are in place.

I will use less plastic.

I am doing this to protect you, the food, water, air and biodiversity of a country that I love.

Dear Kids of the Future,

My wish for all of you is that the people of the present wake up and are able to change their habits.
