Letter to myself in future, my future kids and people of future generation,

Writing this letter to myself in future, my future kids and people of future generation who will take their time out of the busy schedule to read this short letter written through my perspective of how we as humans or so called “rational animals” are destroying nature more than embracing and adding beauty to it.We are often so busy with our lives to make ourselves successful, ourselves the best, but we forget to achieve that we are throwing the best we have away. Our nature our planet, our resources, our home. We feel like we have come so far from the stone age, we have evolved so much and we are said to be the most superior animals as we can think critically, and differentiate between right and wrongs, but at this point in time I want to encourage my fellow world citizens to ask this question one more time.

Climate change is one of the most critical global challenges of our times. Recent events have demonstrated our growing vulnerability to climate change. Climate change impacts range from affecting agriculture, further endangering food security, to sea-level rise, increasing the intensity of natural disasters, species extinction, and spread of vector-borne diseases. More than ever today humans are degrading the environment in pursuit of personal and financial gains. In some cases, they do not know the effects of their actions. But oftentimes, they simply do not want the consequences of their actions on the environment known to the public. And even if the event is public there are some corrupt Politicians and businessman that go on to say that it is nothing but a big Hoax. But the fact(Science) is giving statistical results proving the hypothesis of global warming is not fake, so as an educated individuals and a global citizen we need to preserve what we have so the generations to come can enjoy the resource, the beauty Earth has to offer.

Coming from a developing country I have seen many unfortunate events that were the result of global warming leading to climate change, and developing countries like mine. These countries not only emit the least CO2 per capita, they also contribute the least total emissions on a global scale. But in return the emissions emitted by first world countries effects developing countries the most. This is due to many factors, including the economic importance of climate-sensitive sectors of these countries (e.g. agriculture) and the limited financial and human capacity to respond to the impacts of climate change.

We as global citizens should take an initiative to help out the cause climate change. First, and most important thing is awareness, to educate youth and adults in the community about the science of climate change, the need to take action and specific ways to do so. And next thing we can do is always start with ourselves, if one person thinks I can make a difference, then just imagine if every one of us 7.6 billion individuals thought like this, the difference we can make. So today we need to think about tomorrow, to preserve it before its too late. Lastly I want to end by saying this “If you don’t think about tomorrow today, there will be no tomorrow”.
