Kids,

Hey Kids, how are you. I am writing to you about climate change, and how in, 2019, it’s almost irreversible. Who knows what will have changed by the time you got this. Right now, strikes are happening everywhere to stop climate change, but personally, I think it’s too late. The damage has been done. Over the time you grow up, the same with me, many things are going to change, for good and bad. Do what you want to do, and try to make changes for the best. I’m going to be proud of everything you do.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Children,

I wish I had a crystal ball and could peep into it to see you all happy and safe in a world that nourishes you and that is also nourished by you, a world where the resources it provides are as valued as the people in it and not frittered away by greed and power.

Dear Tomorrow,

I feel optimistic for you, tomorrow. I can feel a shift happening already.

Dear Evan,

What has most inspired me to act is wanting to be able to look you in the eye and say, “When I became aware of the existential threat of climate change, I did all I could.”  Despite my pessimism, I act in the hope it can make a difference for future generations and all the precious life on our fragile planet.

Dear sons,

I’ve been so busy since 2012 working towards getting a price on carbon.

Dear Future,

We need to work to save our beautiful home.

I promise to plant trees and to turn off the lights.

To My Future Self,

This lead me to my final project, which focused on reforming the education system to incorporate sustainability classes into the current curriculum.

Dear Nieces, Nephews, & Future Children…

If there is any advice I could give you, it is to believe that although you are one single person in this world, you still have the ability to make a difference in this world.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to turn old shirts into produce bags.

Dear Annalyse and Greyson,

See people can say they care about climate change, but caring is not action.

Dear Tanuj,

The time has come to question ourselves as citizens about our own actions and the legacy we are leaving behind.

Dear Tomorrow

I will get my roommates to be more environmentally friendly.
