Dear Zeina, Tala, Yara, Jalal, Tamer, my future children, and my siblings’ children,

It is 2019 April 22nd now. I am attending university to earn a degree in Environmental Engineering.

I am trying as much as I can to protect Mother Earth and reduce our effects on climate change. I am talking to people everyday as much as possible about the issue. I am on a plant-based diet for a year and a half now. I try not to use plastic as much as possible. I compost. I really try. It is just annoying and frustrating to see that most people just do not really care about it!!

I will try my best to the extent of my safety and others around me to protect the earth and work together with all the people for a better future and I hope I will still be alive and well in 2050, so that I can be proud to have you in my life and that I have worked to maintain a good world for you to live in.

Thank you.
Peace, love, and blessings <3

More Messages to the Future

To my Maria and her children,

I have to tell you something: it is so hard to keep our life “green” for now, but we still keep trying.

Dear X—, Dear A—,

As with our struggles to eliminate police brutality, as with hate crimes, so it is with climate change – there are actually a lot of people out there who care.

For my most dear and only daughter,

And I know life more fully because of you whom I live on through.

Dear Madeleine,

First of all I hope we succeeded in our dream that yours is a better world than the world of 2021. Today, the forests are burning, the sea levels are rising and wild weather is everywhere. But we are working hard and I’m confident we will succeed.

Dearest Gray,

When I asked you why the purple Violet called to you, you told me it was “magic”. I hope that you can still find the magic of life. I hope, despite everything, it is still in abundance.

Dear Nuriel, Eliran, and Rotem,

Sometimes I think we will never make it, but I know we must keep trying.

Dear Tomorrow

Stay Cool and Save the Whales

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to ask five of my friends to plant trees.

Dear Devon and Chloe

I hope that my work helping to make your schools more sustainable will be something you carry on as you grow older.

Dear Grandchildren — August and any others who were born after him

I joined millions of other people who wrote letters and made calls urging our leaders to do more to care for the planet.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise when I start my baking franchise, I will reduce pollution made by it as much as physically possible.

Hey kiddo,

I’ll be here to tell you all the ways I have fought for the health of our home, and fought to protect all of the wide, open spaces for you to run in. When you’re old enough, we can fight together.
