Dear world,

I am sorry we didn’t take better care of you. I am sorry that we put our wants rather than our needs before you. That millions of pieces of plastic float in the ocean and will never full be removed.

I am sorry that because of our actions the world is hotter than ever. That polar bears are slowly dying because they have no ice to live on. That this beautiful planet is full of trash, smog, and worst of all people who do nothing about it.

I am sorry that we were ungrateful. I am sorry that we ignored your suffering until it was almost to late. But i am even more sorry that we know we are killing you everyday. I am sorry that we actively use plastic despite knowing the damages it’s causing. I am sorry that we make clothes out of plastic. That we wrap our food in plastic. That we do not care enough to do anything about it.

I am sorry that we elected leaders that also do not care. That care more about oil, money, and greed. I am sorry that the United states has a president, as of 2019, that doesn’t believe in basic science. I am sorry that there are people who question climate change on a daily basis because they would rather have money than a planet to live on.

To the world I am sorry.
