Dear Tomorrow,

I want to let you know that you alone are doing your best but we all need to be better. You have started to cut down on resources, and reuse more and more. We have taken far more than we ever should have allowed from the earth and it is now time to help her recover from the stress and destruction we have bestowed on her. By now, hopefully, you can go outside and find many sources of renewable energy, breath in clean air and drink clean water. Much went into this but it started slowly and we took it one step at a time. For me this meant, cutting down on processed and packaged foods, and most things that were waste heavy. It meant, investing in businesses that wanted to help the cause, not hurt it. It was carpooling more, doing less loads of laundry a week, avoiding wasteful companies, growing my own vegetables and offering my voice to help the cause. One person can a difference and start a movement. Simple changes in life can make a huge difference in the long run.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to never use a plastic straw.

Dear Future Earth,

I promise to promote the growth of clean energy, like solar… For the sake of my grandchildren.

Dear Future Generations,

I promise to make as many changes to my life as possible to make yours as great as mine.

Hello spawn,

I am small now littles and I may be small forever but in my small ways I will fight for you.

Dear future generations,

It’s never too late to make a difference. Our actions have very real consequences. We can educate ourselves, learn from our mistakes, and take action. We can hold companies like big oil and big plastic accountable for their negative impacts on the environment. We can educate ourselves and others about what causes climate change and what actions we as individuals can take to lower our carbon footprints.

Querida Emanoely,

Gostaria que você se lembrasse das lições simples que mamãe e papai te ensinou, como cuidar das plantas e dos espaços coletivos.

Dear Eleanor,

You are so small. So innocent. So beautiful. For you and for everyone else, I will try harder.

Dear Future,

I hope that things have cooled down. I hope that people and governments have come together to save our earth. I hope that everyone is able to breath clean air, drink clean water and see the beauty in nature that I do. I promise to do my best to take part in repairing the damage we’ve done so that my hopes may come true.

Dear Great Grandchildren,

If you are reading this, you probably inherited my fascination with ancestry, and the way it uncovers incredible stories of unlikely survival.

Dear Ellie,

My heart is an ocean of love for all the children facing a life of climate catastrophe.

Dear Grandchildren,

So here we are. In 2022 millions of people are suffering from the climate catastrophes, killing pollution and pandemic, not mentioning about poverty, gender and social injustice, racism, wars and dictatorships that can go on as long as bad people in power are allowed to grab our natural resources.
