If there’s one thing young people have learned while quarantining, it’s that Gen Z holds so much power and is capable of a lot more than we think. We’ve created a community that has united us all and started to bring about change for the good of our futures. Now, with the help of Gen Z (and of course, people of all ages), we have the power to save our home, the Earth.

Dear tomorrow,

In a chaotic year full of twists and turns, the Earth has been neglected and left to face the harm of climate change alone. As global temperatures rise, we continue to fall. But to think, “If only all of this could simply go away…” isn’t so much of a crazy idea. It may not be simple, but it’s definitely possible if we were all to be involved.

It starts with little things, like becoming aware of the problem. Climate change and global warming has cost many animals their lives and without help, it’ll cost us our lives as well. Natural disasters have become more extreme, icebergs have been melting at alarming rates, disastrous wildfires have destroyed communities. If we all simply spoke up about this topic and spread awareness to friends, family, local governments and more, things would start to change. This in turn could lead to even bigger projects for the world’s betterment: more usage of renewable energy instead of fossil fuels, more usage of electric/hybrid cars, and so on. The world is capable of so much change if we all just pitched in.

In a chaotic year full of twists and turns, we deemed the future to be our savior. We always wake up day by day in hopes of seeing a world taking more initiative– a world of change. I hope you’re doing your part as I am mine in making this happen.

Treat the Earth with kindness.
