Dear Tomorrow,

Today most of us can see the immediate impact of climate change. With this knowledge I hope we can unite to make a difference so you tomorrow, can see a world that is more alive than ours today. I believe we can make a change together so our kids and the many generations to come can enjoy all the beauty natures has given us.

More Messages to the Future

dear future people (:

I hope that people are still enjoying the wonders that nature has to offer.

Dear Maya,

Maya, my love, I promise to be courageous. I promise that when I face a decision, I will think of how it will impact you and your future. I promise that I’ll also step outside my individual decisions and add my weight to the forces that shift culture and systems.

Dear Future Self,

It was 2020, the year I realized that life is fragile—not just mine, but the entire planet—through immense consumption, pollution, greediness, ignorance, false bliss. This wasn’t the way I wanted to live my life, so I promise to actively make the change.

Dear tomorrow,

Unfortunately, our selfishness and excessive greed have closed our eyes to the well-being of the planet, and it has suffered the consequences.

Dear future generations,

Past generations took all the trees, polluted all the water, fished all the fish, and huntedĀ all the animals so that there’s almost nothing nice left.

Dear Me of Tomorrow,

I plan to plant more things this spring, as we do every year in our garden.

To My Dear Grandchildren,

Be assured that in the upcoming election, I will cast my vote for your future – for elected officials that recognize climate risks and are willing to promote and vote for legislation that will stop environmental damage and begin to heal our planet.

Dear Jeremy,

We had a lot in common obviously, and our concern for the planet we live on was one of the many things we bonded over.

Dear Tomorrow,

And, if this summer has taught me anything, I am content (because I have to be) living in this limbo, this seemingly endless waiting for the opportunity to change, when really the opportunity exists within our very selves all along.

Dear Hailey and Lily,

We know about this. If we don’t fix this for you, it’s our fault.

Dear Evan,

What has most inspired me to act is wanting to be able to look you in the eye and say, ā€œWhen I became aware of the existential threat of climate change, I did all I could.ā€Ā  Despite my pessimism, I act in the hope it can make a difference for future generations and all the precious life on our fragile planet.

Dear Chay and Kate,

Don’t ever let anyone tell you your actions don’t matter. Every single thing you do matters. You matter.
