Dear Tomorrow,

Make no mistake – we were aware of these problems you no doubt realize today. Unfortunately, economics and politics seem to favour the wealthy and powerful more than the common man (Something, for the world’s sake, I hope has changed). While most Americans are reasonable people, some benefit more from forcing others to live a life of inaction. As such, we have plenty of motivated people, but little initiative or resources. Fortunately, things are changing. It’s a work in progress, but I hope people take this as serious as my generation seems to. Hopefully you see this – although I can’t promise anything in our current state. Just know that there are, in fact, reasonable (and vocal) people alive in the 2010s.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Alex and Vivian,

This is my most important work.

To my children – Chase, Maya and Harlan

I hope that we manage to change the system really soon, while there is still time. So that you are not left with the mess, and trying to fix something that you didn’t cause. I hope we figured out a way to be kind, and caring for others who will suffer more than us. A way to let go of the greed and look at ways we can help others rather than take from them.

Dear Malasher and Alex,

My goal was to help you grow into better citizens of our planet; to help you care about our natural world and to make everyday choices that reflect concern for our beautiful earth and our own health as well as encourage you to work together to make changes in our community.

Dear future generations,

Past generations took all the trees, polluted all the water, fished all the fish, and hunted all the animals so that there’s almost nothing nice left.

To our future generations,

I want you to know that some of us do care and we are working towards a better future for you.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to use a reusable water bottle.

Dear girls,

I love you and I care deeply about your future.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to not waste food and eat locally grown food.

Dear friend,

I will fight for this cause and I will never ever give up because we, the youngsters, are the hope.

Dear Eleanor,

It seems silly to saddle yourself with guilt for something that hasn’t happened yet. I don’t want to do that. As of today, I don’t really feel guilty. I guess I just want to make sure I keep doing more, so that when you read this, and ask what I’ve done since then, I can still feel good about my efforts.

Dear Tomorrow,

I will do my part to help ensure that there is an Earth left when we are done borrowing it.

Dear Tomorrow-My letter to the future 2030

I am most sorry we could not work through our differences, and see through the greed, get organized, and do more so that you could have a better life in your 2030 future.
