It is currently May of 2018 and our planet is being pushed to its limits. Our population is increasing, and because of our society’s obsession with growth, we are using more natural resources than ever. Our industries are polluting our planet and our people are living unsustainably. I fear that we will continue to abuse our planet to the point of inhabitability. No other species has had as much of an impact as us. But if we can destroy our planet, I believe we can also find new ways of helping the planet, so that generations after you can enjoy life here on earth.

I hope that my generation will discover and implement a way for everyone to live and operate sustainably, and without waste. While some visionaries are working towards that goal, the rest of our population needs to be on board to changing the way they live and operate. I fear that a majority of our population is too apathetic or cynical to care to change. But hopefully they realize they need to before it’s too late.

I promise to make changes where I can and encourage others too as well. I also promise to work to bring sustainable change on a large scale by working with organizations that aim to do so as well.

I hope we succeed.
