Dear Sophie,

I never imagined myself living to see such a beautiful world go through so much chaos, but I would hope things are different now. In 2017, you were just a one-year-old with two little teeth and the biggest brown eyes I have ever seen. But, the world was dealing with turmoil while you were just beginning to blossom. The temperatures were high, the winds were roaring, hurricanes destroyed lives, and humanity was lost after Donald Trump was elected President. However, your loving aunt has devoted her career to help make a change in the way the world sees renewable energy to ensure a safer, more colorful, and vibrant world for you to live in and experience. I hope you read this and know that I made an impact so that you can go on and do bigger and better things for the future.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to sign up for 100% renewable energy.

Dear me,

Remember how passionate you felt at 20, I hope you keep that passion in you and are still working on climate 30 years from now.

Meus filhos,

Devemos conservar nosso planeta.

To my beloved granddaughters, Margaret and Caroline,

Growing up in Germany, I often wondered what my parents had done to oppose the Nazi regime in the 1930’s that led to WWII.  I was so disappointed when I found out how passive they had been. For me, this was formative.

To My Children and My Future Grandchildren,

People are an amazing race and, if we have the will, I believe we have the ingenuity and resources to fix the harm we’ve done.

Dear Ezmae,

As I write this, I consider giving up as it sometimes seems that all is lost. But then I think of you.

Dear Nova and Remi,

I wish for you both that another kind of life has been discovered, one of peace, moderation and concern for all life.

To my daughter and son,

Surrounded by scientists who shared my fears and visions, I often had a hard time to accept that outside our small community climate change received marginal attention.

Dear Tripp,

I promise to do my part, supporting federal legislation to protect our earth while starting small with projects at home.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to ditch all the natural gas and go all electric with my home!

Dear Future Self,

I hope you got your dream job of using your business degree to reduce co2 emissions and promote sustainable energy.
