Dear someone in the future,

Nobody knows what the future will hold for us, how much of everything will be left and which role we will play. I hope you did your part and you are proud of it.

Everyone should be aware that we have to change something. The topic of climate change should be addressed much more often in schools and at work, but also privately.

However, the most important thing remains to contribute to it actively. It does not hurt anyone to change their lives a little for the better and to enable future generations to live comfortably on this planet.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Anabelle and Bruce,

My desire is for clean air, clean water, rich soil, and healthy nutritious food for you and all children always everywhere.

To my daughter and son,

Surrounded by scientists who shared my fears and visions, I often had a hard time to accept that outside our small community climate change received marginal attention.

Dear Future,

“I knew you would want to know how the future turned out. You got so anxious about climate change as we grew older.  By coming back, I thought I could help you with that.”

Dear little one,

In the coming months, we plan to complete a full assessment of our environmental impact online. We hope to discover our biggest areas of resource consumption, learn what we can do better, and create an action plan to improve over the next year.

For a child I am yet to know,

We are fighting for a shared cause, inspired by our strong and unwavering dedication to preserve the beauty and wonder of our natural world for our children, our grandchildren and their children, and for countless generations to come.

Dear son,

Everyone should be grow at least 100 trees in his lifetime.

To my dear son,

Last year most of the world’s reefs turned white at some point, but because it was underwater you and your friends didn’t see.

to my dearest children,

Our future is being made now, and I promise to do everything in my power to make yours safe.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to ride a bike and take a smart train.

Dear Ezmae,

As I write this, I consider giving up as it sometimes seems that all is lost. But then I think of you.

Dear Alba:

There is still a lot of beauty and I will do what I can to keep it from slipping away.

To Annika, Anders, Stella, Eva, and Mickey,

In writing to you, I realize that I don’t want you to be hard on yourself if you choose to not make this your cause. But it is mine, so I hope that you hold me accountable to some of what I wrote here.
