Dear Savannah, Lochlan, and Avery,

My heart breaks and anxiety overtakes me when I think of what we have done to this beautiful planet and how it will continue to be destroyed if we don’t do something significant, now, and fast.  I want you to have the opportunity to soak in the wonders of this magical globe, as I did until now, and explore as much of is as you can.

That is why, I will continue to be vegan and think back to its importance when I start to waiver. I will buy less plastic, and change roles to link my daily actions of my career to what I truly care about – this world and our future lives.

You have my word.

xoxoxo

More Messages to the Future

I want to tell you a story. Yes, another one.

Mankind has always been able to deal with the greatest challenges it’s faced and this will not be the exception. My message to you is: find that passion and give it your all. ‘Till your legs give out.

To my children,

I hope that the fervor that is building continues to build and spread and that the world has made progress to minimize the effects of our past actions.

To my dear children in the year 2050,

I don’t wish to go backwards, but I do wish we would slow down and design our brave new world with more care.

Dear Emilia and Tommy,

We, in our time, still have the chance to change course. We have the knowledge and emergent means, even the profitable technologies, to do so.

dear future people (:

I hope that people are still enjoying the wonders that nature has to offer.

Dear Hannah, Harper and future baby of Ryan and Colleen Lane,

I will not stop fighting for a more sustainable future, your future.

To my children,

I am working with 350.org on shutting down the coal and unconventional gas industries in our country because I cannot think of a more direct way to protect you, the food, water and biodiversity we all love and rely on.

To my fellow adventurers,

Don’t stop looking for adventures.

Dear Evan,

What has most inspired me to act is wanting to be able to look you in the eye and say, “When I became aware of the existential threat of climate change, I did all I could.”  Despite my pessimism, I act in the hope it can make a difference for future generations and all the precious life on our fragile planet.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will bring permaculture designs to my community.

To my Children,

As you look through your window, I hope you will see a bright future. I hope you dream big, and that you have the courage, drive, and fortitude to do everything you can to achieve those dreams.

Dear World,

The environment is important – take care of your actions to not destroy it starting from now.
