If there is any advice I could give you, it is to believe that although you are one single person in this world, you still have the ability to make a difference in this world.

Dear Nieces, Nephews, & Future Children…

Dear Nieces, Nephews, & Future Children,

As an adolescent, I wasn’t exposed to the importance of sustaining our ecological system to ensure we have a planet to pass down to you munchkins. However, I do not blame our family as this is something they had no knowledge of just like myself. As I got older, I should’ve adapted to practicing good habits. I’m 21 years old and in college barely being exposed to the various ways I can contribute my part to saving the planet and today, my hope is that you all read this knowing from here forward I’m doing my very best to make sure you are able to live the greatest and healthiest life possible.

I promise to put my best foot forth and make it a habit to recycling at home, something I never did before. I also promise to reduce the amount of trash I produce as this has a very negative effect on our Earth as landfills are one of the largest contributors to pollution in our world. While I can’t promise to leave you any inheritance, I promise to make it my duty to pass this down to all of you in hopes that you are inspired to pass it down to your children, your children’s children, and so on.

If there is any advice I could give you, it is to believe that although you are one single person in this world, you still have the ability to make a difference in this world. Never take no for an answer and strive to be the best version of you in this world. Consider your actions and how they can potentially have negative consequences not only for you but for those around you. Take the time to comprehend the importance of our ecological system and do not let anything hinder your ability to do so. I pray that my small choices have made a difference in your life.

More Messages to the Future

Dear World,

I vow that I will try to make a difference every day, so that you may enjoy the world as I have.

To My Future Children,

Most importantly, I hope you live in a world where science is taken seriously and fact is clearly distinguished from fiction.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to never use a plastic straw.

To all the children of the future and those who love them,

While there is still breath in this body I will give of my soul and my time and energy to making the world a better place, for you, and all the beautiful living beings of this world.

Dear Amara and Uma,

Maybe you heard about bats? Bats, the carriers of this disease that spread among us like wild fire. I love bats. When I was your age today, sitting in the evening on the back terrace of your grandparent’s home in Ibiza, hundreds of bats would play, dance and sing among the trees.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise my next vehicle will be an EV.

Dear Tomorrow,

I haven’t met you yet, but I already know you deserve a better tomorrow.

Dear Nephew,

I believe i have truly played my part in raising awareness and practical solutions to climate change.

Dear future child whatever your name is,

Climate change right now is really bad, I’m writing this during the COP26 conference in Glasgow (which is an hour away) and I’m listening to politicians talking about promises for the future. ā€œIf we fail, future generations will never forgive us.ā€ -Boris Johnson

Dear Me of 2050,

I promise that I will plant more trees in places where there are none.

Dear residents of Bedminster, Bristol UK,

We hope we did enough

Dear Tomorrow,

I will aim to lower my carbon footprint!
