Dear next generation,

If you’re reading this, then my generation has ruined the earth, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t done a great deal to mess it up. Right now, we are in the middle of a global pandemic having to deal with all its consequences. But, something that we should also be dealing with is our environment because it’s pretty bad. Climate change has affected the earth as a whole: melting the ice-caps and heating up the atmosphere. With all the vehicles and machinery at work, our air quality is not the greatest. In general, my generation hasn’t been doing its job and protecting the planet that we call home. I hope that by the time you’re reading this, things have changed and people have started to protect the earth. Start recycling! Start using electric cars instead of gasoline-powered ones! To the government: START TAKING CLIMATE CHANGE SERIOUSLY! In the end, I hope that your generation has and will continue to treat our planet with the care and respect that it deserves because my generation didn’t do that. Fix our mistakes and make change!

I hope that we manage to change the system really soon, while there is still time. So that you are not left with the mess, and trying to fix something that you didn’t cause. I hope we figured out a way to be kind, and caring for others who will suffer more than us. A way to let go of the greed and look at ways we can help others rather than take from them.

Dear Son,

I hope with effective action to combat this climate change will we have a better world in the future.

Dear Nieces, Nephews, & Future Children…

If there is any advice I could give you, it is to believe that although you are one single person in this world, you still have the ability to make a difference in this world.

To my future children,

I am doing everything I can because I want the footprint that I leave behind to be my feet in the sand on a beach and not a carbon one.
