Dear me,

I’m just eighteen now and I feel insecure about many things in my life: my body, my character, my choices and especially my future. I’m not sure who I’m going to be in ten, twenty or even thirty years from now. Which path is the right one? No idea. I’m certain, however, that I’d like to find love one day and make it last. As you probably remember, I’ve never found love before and I’m looking forward to discovering the beauty and the joy of it. I’d love to have children and a fullfilling job that makes me happy.I hope you will have travelled a bit around the globe by then, as you’ve always dreamt. I hope that the Coronavirus pandemic will end soon, in order to go back to our ordinary life. We already know that climate change is an urgent issue and I hope that by 2050 we will have fulfilled our duties, in order to make the Earth a better place. I believe in humankind and in its conscience. We may have just enough time to prevent certain catastrophes, I hope we’ll do a good job.
I hope that throughout your life you’ve always been yourself, the genuine, funny and messy Anita. I’d love to know that by then you will have joined an amazing gospel choir and took theatre lessons. I hope you’ve improved your cooking skills and become a skilled pastry chef.
Best wishes for the future,
always me

Dear Tomorrow

Colin

Dear Oliver,

I am getting your father on board too so that we can double charge this together.

Dear Tomorrow,

I am so sorry we didn’t realize this predicament sooner.

Dear Jackson,

I feel deeply that it is my moral obligation as your Mom to protect your future and allow you to inherit a clean and healthy planet.

To My Friends, Family and Future Grandchildren,

I realize my reflection of the past, current and future state of the environment paints a grim and pessimistic picture, but I feel optimistic in our ability to turn planet Earth’s fate around if we all work together and commit to making a change.

Dear Annie and Eric,

I hope that this life of good things is not just yours to enjoy, but that you also have decided to fight for others to have this life, too.

Dear Me,

Today, I promise to keep my spaces clean and my environment cleaner.

Dear Generations to Be,

If we could all slow down, look around and connect: with each other, the Earth, the sky, the plants and rocks and animals, then maybe we can all remember to treat everyone and everything with respect and live in love.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will bring permaculture designs to my community.

Dear Tomorrow,

My climate promise is to reduce electricity at home. I will turn off the TV and lights when I’m not in the room.

Dear Future Grandchildren,

I hope I can look you in the eye and tell you I honestly did everything I could to protect our planet.

To the future generations,

I hope that you all can enjoy the Smokey Mountains in your lifetime too and that they look how they did back in 2017 when I saw them.
