Dear Kids of the Future,

I hope that this letter will make it to you. 2050 seems like a time far away from now. By then I will be 49! I can’t even imagine what the world may be like by then. Currently, it seems that many world leaders are apathetic or are slow to create change to mitigate or adapt to what is currently happening to our planet. However, there is still hope! There are people working and advocating for the earth. So my promise to the kids of 2050, is that I will try everyday to make sustainable decisions. I am going to spend as much time possible learning, educating and enjoying the beautiful world we live in. I promise to reduce my carbon footprint, and also teach others too.

My wish for all of you is that the people of the present wake up and are able to change their habits. I hope you will be able to trek along mountain peaks and valleys, exploring glaciers and the meadows that they feed. I hope that the world is safe yet still wild for you to experience.

I promise to do my best to protect the planet for your generation. So that you can also continue to protect it for the children who come next.

Love,

Kennedy-Anne
