Dear John,

The year is 2020, and I’m about to end a class I took called Global Environment where we learned about the effects of climate change on the earth. I have learned so much and if it weren’t for this class then I would have continued to ignore this giant societal issue. I’m writing you this letter because I want you to know I stood up for what needed to be done and hope that I, in some way helped slow the climate change that is so evident in the world. My work has already started and I promise to you when you read this letter I did everything I could to help save the environment. I have already stopped using plastic cups that cannot be recycled. I have joined groups dedicated to help save the environment. I plan to write to big government over and over again until the message is sent. I will walk in rallies and protests for change. I want to change the path that the earth is on now and I hope that you will do the same to carry on this legacy. Climate change has to stop, continue on the legacy if we have lost touch, pass it on to other friends and your children because we need to save this beautiful earth so that many more generations can live happily like we did as children. I hope I did enough to help save the earth, pass the message on!

I am writing this message to you guys. When I look outside my window today, I see a beautiful world that others and myself call “home sweet home.” The trees glimmering in warm sunlight, the air stirring a cool breeze, and the water flowing down rivers are parts of our home Mother Earth.

Dear Tomorrow,

I am so sorry we didn’t realize this predicament sooner.

Dear Alyssa,

I pray that more and more fathers will realize that to love their children well, they have to love and respect the ecological systems around them too.
