Dear Future Self,

I really hope that in the future I become more persistent with recycling. I hope that I am able to not only change my ways of recycling, but my families and hopefully my communities’ ways of recycling. I would like to make a goal to cut meat completely out of my diet in the next few months. After seeing the importance of practicing sustainable acts, I wish to change my habits and better the world not only for myself, but for the future generations. I want to be able to say I made some kind of a difference and lifestyle change. I would love to see myself working on sustainability for hospitals sometime in the near future or with large-scale companies.

More Messages to the Future

Dear next generation,

I hope that by the time you’re reading this, things have changed and people have started to protect the earth

To my precious children

I want clean air, clean energy and muddy feet for you. I want this for all children.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to not waste food and eat locally grown food.

Dear Madeline, Ava, and Harper,

What I wish most for you girls is that the care you have shown each other would extend to the big wide world around you.

To my unborn children, hey it’s mummy Cris here!

I am witnessing climate change in a way that I do not like, and I do not know how can I stop it.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to clean the earth.

Dear You Tomorrow,

What we failed to do, at least early on, was to see how important it was to put those solutions together. To combine into a way forward.

I won’t leave my lights on.

Dear Donatella,

We ran through the woods laughing, crying, and living.

Dear Evan,

What has most inspired me to act is wanting to be able to look you in the eye and say, “When I became aware of the existential threat of climate change, I did all I could.”  Despite my pessimism, I act in the hope it can make a difference for future generations and all the precious life on our fragile planet.

Dear Granddaughter Rosalia,

This is my heritage for you my beautiful cacheticos de melon.

Dear future generations,

I pledge to you now that I will work tirelessly and with all my willpower so you don’t have to live in a world where you have to worry about the next storm.
