Dear future self,

2018 is a time to be alive. Technology and the world around you is so much more advanced than when you were a child. With all the technology around you, you are able to have the reports related to climate change at the tip of your fingers. Climate change is no joke and I hope you have continued to live your life in respect to the climate. You have made the decision to go vegetarian in 2018 and I hope you have kept that lifestyle as long as you could especially while reading this letter. I hope you recycle and reuse as much as possible. Everything you’ve done today can help for a better tomorrow. Please make sure your kids and family are fully aware of climate change and how dangerous it will be if humans continue to pollute our earth drastically. I expect the world and its skies to be much prettier now. I expect more eco-friendly products and fuel options to be readily available at affordable prices. I also expect much more people to change their diets in respect to climate change.

More Messages to the Future

Dear future Michelle,

As consumers, it is our duty to protest and force companies to be greener and avoid environmental damage, whether they are from the food industry or from any other production industry. It’s about time we start thinking greener.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to sign up for 100% renewable energy.

Dear Tomorrow

I will get my roommates to be more environmentally friendly.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to buy organic food and run more and bike more! (I could use the exercise.)

Dear future Child or Grandchild,

Climate is undeniably changing but it is not top priority.

To my brother’s children,

We wondered about how we might be able to eliminate plastics from our day to day routines, and recycled literally everything. We were amazing, you should have seen us. Now and again though, we wondered if these were the right questions.

Dear Future,

“I knew you would want to know how the future turned out. You got so anxious about climate change as we grew older.  By coming back, I thought I could help you with that.”

Dear Spike, Loulou and Yoshua,

I’m going to start a campaign to try to convince everybody in the Netherlands to not eat meat one day a week.

To my dear children in the year 2050,

I don’t wish to go backwards, but I do wish we would slow down and design our brave new world with more care.

Dear Ya’Ash,

There are many paths to Truth, but regardless of your faith or ideology, one truth is above all else: Life must continue.

Dear Tomorrow,

The road I learned to ride my bike on, the field where I kicked my first soccer ball, and the park I ate my first ice cream cone at, could all be gone.

Dear Tomorrow,

I will stop using plastic and will plant trees. I will also not waste water and electricity.
