Dear future self,

Remember that the greenhouse gas effect works by allowing the sun’s rays to enter the Earth’s atmosphere but keeps the heat from escaping back into space. Going with that factor, I promise that I will be walking more often to help reduce the amount of carbon dioxide I emit into the atmosphere and eating less meat (even though I love fried chicken!). Co2 is emitted into the air when the burning of fossil fuels for heat, electricity, and transportation takes place. This years average temperature is 59.8 degrees F. Hopefully this number will stay roughly the same. Also, I hope that everybody will catch on to what I am doing and help save the world from climate change little by little!

More Messages to the Future

Oh My Lovely Faizan,

I love you my son. You are waking up now. Hopefully tomorrow, more of us will, too.

To the wonder,

Dear tomorrow, thank you for letting me ride the wave of wonder that reaches toward you for all generations of all species to come.

Dear Gabriel,

One day ten or twenty years from now, when you look back from the future, you will be able to clearly see the entire path.

To my future self,

It is today on March 6th, 2017 that you have made the decision to make a difference in this world.

Dear Tomorrow,

I’ll buy only food that I plan to eat before it spoils.

Dear future me,

If we don’t stop cutting down trees for agriculture and to build houses then the future generations will not think about trees when they hear the word Earth.

Dear Corey,

I promise to do all within my power to create a world that’s safe for you and your generation.

To My Dear Grandchildren,

Be assured that in the upcoming election, I will cast my vote for your future – for elected officials that recognize climate risks and are willing to promote and vote for legislation that will stop environmental damage and begin to heal our planet.

I pledge to use less plastic.

Dear Gabriel,

When the worst consequences of climate change still feel far away today, or the barriers to acting on climate change seem steep today, I do not think about today. I think about you, and your world when you are my age.

Dear Tomorrow,

This is just the beginning. It’s the accrual of little seeds of change that will lead to the tree of revolution.

Dear Kaydence,

I will keep trying Kaydence, I promise. And I hope we can look back together in 2050 and smile, knowing that our Earth is healthy once again.
