dear future people (:

I am writing this message to you guys. When I look outside my window today, I see a beautiful world that others and myself call “home sweet home.” The trees glimmering in warm sunlight, the air stirring a cool breeze, and the water flowing down rivers are parts of our home Mother Earth. For any normal person, it is important to treat the world with respect by knowing and understanding the ranges and limits Earth can provide for ourselves. Unfortunately, there are people that are shadowed by lust for greed who feel that harming Earth will gain them complete control on the economy. Because of the negative influence these people will have on the climate, it is important for all of us to make the Earth a better place to live during the difficult times you will face in the future.

As I continue to live my life as a working adult, I often think about how much future generations will have to suffer through the mess my generation has made. These are often bad thoughts and feelings of regret that I know that I myself cannot fix. And if I am being brutally honest, none of this would affect me in the future knowing that I will someday die due to age in the future. With these negative thoughts in my mind, I hope that the future will have a better sense of hope and willingness to make a difference in Earth’s climate change. Small differences like reducing energy usage could help, but it won’t make any global impacts unless the entire population takes part. Ultimately, when you grow up in the future, I hope you will understand the pain and suffering we have put you through. Just promise me that you will become Earth’s saviors unlike myself.
