As consumers, it is our duty to protest and force companies to be greener and avoid environmental damage, whether they are from the food industry or from any other production industry. It’s about time we start thinking greener.

Dear future Michelle,

You and I both know that our planet has been suffering for a very long time now, and while we are just one of many, every little contribution can help improve the environment.

While we can agree that we do the least amount of effort to avoid damaging the environment, let’s be fair: we can do better.

Let’s avoid buying so much fast food and start cooking more organic food at home. Let’s start separating our wastes so that they can be properly recycled, and let’s avoid buying any more than we can consume. I know it’s not an easy task and that it will take much effort from us, but let’s do our best.

But changing our eating habits is just one way to help the environment. There are many other causes in which we can act. We should avoid leaving lamps turned on around the house and only plug devices to an outlet when we’re about to use them. We should also avoid leaving our taps open for longer than it’s needed. These habits will not only help the planet, even if slightly but also help reduce our expenses.

As consumers, it is our duty to protest and force companies to be greener and avoid environmental damage, whether they are from the food industry or from any other production industry. It’s about time we start thinking greener.

And don’t forget your role as a pedagogue, which is also to motivate and teach future generations to be more aware of environmental well-being.

Best regards,

Present Michelle, past Michelle when this letter reaches you.

More Messages to the Future

To the Three most Beautiful Souls I could ever Know,

I promise to keep your Love at the forefront of my every move. I will make personal changes and I will learn more, so that I can contribute to a healthier environment in a meaningful way.

Dear ACS, LG, CM, MCD, AH, MS, AS, GL, and ERD,

I commit to demanding that politicians that want my vote, my time, my substantial help and expertise are people who seek to address climate change seriously and talk about it boldly.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will only use renewable energy.

Dear Child,

Hope we get to have that snowball fight I always dreamed we’d have.

Dear Donatella,

We ran through the woods laughing, crying, and living.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will do everything I can to help fight against climate change.

Greetings 2050 earthling,

Starting in 2015 I committed my life to sustainability.

Dear James,

More importantly, what are we doing to better our planet and everyone who lives in it?

Dear tomorrow,

If there’s one thing young people have learned while quarantining, it’s that Gen Z holds so much power and is capable of a lot more than we think. We’ve created a community that has united us all and started to bring about change for the good of our futures. Now, with the help of Gen Z (and of course, people of all ages), we have the power to save our home, the Earth.

Dear Lalo,

I hope whatever happens, whatever I can’t imagine that you may face, that you will continue to seek light.

Dear Tomorrow,

I will opt up to deep green

To my future children,

It’s not enough to just recycle. I will sign petitions and call my local representatives. I will also engage in conversations about climate change – even with people with whom I don’t see eye-to-eye.
