Dear Future Me,

So far, this year’s average temperature is 64.8 degrees Fahrenheit! Winter still hasn’t ended yet! That is insane for St. Louis, Missouri. We have already had two severe storms from February 28 – March 6th. They both consisted of tornado touchdowns throughout Missouri. This doesn’t look good for this summer. We need to make a change. We need to slow down global warming by a lot to get back to a stable climate. There have been more hurricanes in 2016 than what I remember. Because of global warming caused by fossil fuels, the Earth gets hot because of the Carbon Dioxide build up in the atmosphere which causes the sun’s rays to get trapped inside Earth. Heat powers storms, so when the Earth heats up more and more, that causes more storms and powerful storms. Our world is in danger, we need to end climate change or we will cook like turkey in an oven. Let’s all work together to end climate change. I promise to keep the Earth clean and to plant more trees and switch to green energy. Let’s make a change!

Sincerely,

Aiden H

More Messages to the Future

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to take my bike everywhere. Taking Golden Gate Transit to SF tonight.

Dear You Tomorrow,

What we failed to do, at least early on, was to see how important it was to put those solutions together. To combine into a way forward.

Dear Annalyse and Greyson,

See people can say they care about climate change, but caring is not action.

Dear next generation,

Please don’t wait to see the adverse effects instead adopt that river, stream, lake or ocean to make the world a better place.

Dear Tomorrow,

This is just the beginning. It’s the accrual of little seeds of change that will lead to the tree of revolution.

Dear Future,

I asked you, the future , to help us as well, to preserve our only planet that can give us life, that can let us watch anime, go to the beach, smell flowers, run through the meadow, listen to our songs, be in a concert, and let us live.

To my precious grandchildren, Emma, Maya, Maddie and Will,

With love and a great hope for the future, a future that will be healthy and sustainable for you, my precious grandchildren.

A love letter to my son

I hope this year is a real turning point and by the time you’re a teenager, your life is powered almost entirely by clean energy like solar and wind.

To my unborn children, hey it’s mummy Cris here!

I am witnessing climate change in a way that I do not like, and I do not know how can I stop it.

Queridas filhas Ana Luísa e Ana Carla,

Dear grand nieces and nephews,

I wish you this security knowing we changed because we love you.
