Dear Future Kid,

The changing climate is an important issue. This is especially true for your generation. The impact that my generation has on the climate and world we live in will be greater for you than it will for us. For this it is with great regret that I admit that my generation does not take climate change as seriously as it should and most likely as seriously as your generation will have to take it. I hope that my generation takes the steps that are necessary for you to live the quality of life that you and all of your generation and all generations are entitled to.

From,
The worlds greatest motherfucking dad

More Messages to the Future

Dear Spike, Loulou and Yoshua,

I’m going to start a campaign to try to convince everybody in the Netherlands to not eat meat one day a week.

Dear Daughter,

Even when contemplating huge global-historical issues — especially then — it’s important to stay grounded in the present time and place, the specific here and now, and the minute affairs of everyday interpersonal relations.

Olá Pessoal,

Com essas ideias simples e força de vontade, podemos tornar um mundo, um lugar melhor para se viver, com menos mortes, menos lixo, transforma-lo em um mundo diferente.

Dear Eleanor,

You are so small. So innocent. So beautiful. For you and for everyone else, I will try harder.

Dear Zhengqing Gao,

Fortunately, you didn’t get injured while the wildfire burned your school.

To my future children,

It’s not enough to just recycle. I will sign petitions and call my local representatives. I will also engage in conversations about climate change – even with people with whom I don’t see eye-to-eye.

Dear Tomorrow,

We only have 11 years left until the damage done by climate change is irreversible.

Dear Tomorrow,

It wasn’t about Him, it was about Us. And this isn’t about Me, it’s about You. And it won’t be about You, it will be about Them.

Dear Annalyse and Greyson,

See people can say they care about climate change, but caring is not action.

dear future children,

As I write this, our world is slowly giving way to climate change.

Dear Nolan, Patrick, Cullen and Gabriel,

This Mother’s Day I am again thinking of my grandsons future and what I am doing to change the world if only by a small fraction.

Dear Emilia and Tommy,

We, in our time, still have the chance to change course. We have the knowledge and emergent means, even the profitable technologies, to do so.
