I am sorry for the situation you have been left with. I would like to be hopeful in saying that we solved our own problems but the realist in me knows that we left you with lots of problems. I hope you know that there were plenty of people who really cared about what we were doing to the planet. But for every person who cared, there was someone who didn’t. I was someone who cared. At 18, there isn’t much I can do to make significant changes, but I hope to someday be in a position to change that. As of now, I worry about the little things that I’m in control of. To mention a few, I have completely ridded single use plastics from my life, I bike to and from school, in the summer I carpool as much as I can, I wear my clothes until they no longer fit and then donate them to goodwill, as well as many other things. I really hope we didn’t ruin the planet beyond repair, because its our only home. Again, I am sorry for the world we left you and if it is still possible to fix everything, I believe in you.

I promise to reach out to more people to ditch driving and consider using public transportation. I promise to convince Marin markets that sensible policies in density and mixed use planning will further enhance everyone’s quality of life.
