Dear future generations,

We are all sorry for all the mistakes we have made. We made mistakes like sea levels rising because of the heat from all our carbon emissions which stopped you seeing beautiful creatures like polar bears and arctic foxes. Sea creatures are dying from plastic and so are land animals like wild rabbits and hedgehogs. We also apologise for the small number of trees we left as well because of us wanting palm oil.

From now on I will try and get a scooter or bike so I can ride from place to place and I will use a lot more public transport like buses and trains. Lights and electric items will be turned off in my house from now. I hope we make a change for you and later generations.

Look after yourself my child, look after your brother, your friends, your children, all the animals and the whole planet. Love them like there is no tomorrow.

To my dear children in the year 2050,

I don’t wish to go backwards, but I do wish we would slow down and design our brave new world with more care.

It seems silly to saddle yourself with guilt for something that hasn’t happened yet. I don’t want to do that. As of today, I don’t really feel guilty. I guess I just want to make sure I keep doing more, so that when you read this, and ask what I’ve done since then, I can still feel good about my efforts.

I am going to start doing better to have a healthier planet for you to live on.
