Dear Future Generations,

This year really hit the concept of humanities rights. Those of you who know the great suffering we have inflicted to our human society have had a vital correlation to our sense of striving for civil rights. We have, over the years, gotten a better sense of understanding the privilege of justice with the human equality ignoring the race, religion, and the sex, however, we as a united community, are still in the process of completing the whole scenario. We have to have a more open minded moralities that will unite us as a whole and be a part of our planet to restore the great emptiness that have been abandoned for years within. We have to inflict the concept that anger and frustration will always lead to anger and frustration, never to a resolution. Therefore, we as a whole should cooperate and think openly to opportunities to find solution to problems

More Messages to the Future

Dear Potential Future Kiddo,

To think that my choices of sustainable commuting, eating a plant based diet, and working on our City’s zero waste program likely pale in comparison to the impact of not having a baby is nothing short of devastating.  Does it make me a bad environmentalist to honor my maternal instincts?

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to shop at more farmer’s markets.

Dear Nova and Remi,

I wish for you both that another kind of life has been discovered, one of peace, moderation and concern for all life.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to go to the farmer’s market more

Dear future child whatever your name is,

Climate change right now is really bad, I’m writing this during the COP26 conference in Glasgow (which is an hour away) and I’m listening to politicians talking about promises for the future. “If we fail, future generations will never forgive us.” -Boris Johnson

Dear Tomorrow,

My climate promise is to reduce electricity at home. I will turn off the TV and lights when I’m not in the room.

Dear girls,

I love you and I care deeply about your future.

Dear Kai and Leah,

I want you to feel awestruck like I do. It is important to feel small sometimes, to feel the weight of reality, to recognize the scale of a challenge, to see where you fit and what you are up against. This is the case with climate change.

Dear Tomorrow,

My climate action is to educate youth to create solutions for energy efficiency and conservation opportunities.

Dear little one,

In the coming months, we plan to complete a full assessment of our environmental impact online. We hope to discover our biggest areas of resource consumption, learn what we can do better, and create an action plan to improve over the next year.

To my dearest Gabriel,

What gives me hope is what is yet to come, what you will experience in your lifetime.

To my children – Chase, Maya and Harlan

I hope that we manage to change the system really soon, while there is still time. So that you are not left with the mess, and trying to fix something that you didn’t cause. I hope we figured out a way to be kind, and caring for others who will suffer more than us. A way to let go of the greed and look at ways we can help others rather than take from them.
