Dear future generations,

It’s 2018 and every day we are noticing more ways humans are impacting the environment. As a country, and as a world we must come together and realize that no matter what are political or social views are, the goal of preserving our earth for future generations is one common goal we must unite on, despite our other differences. Over the past year or so, I’ve become increasingly aware of the impact my actions have on the earth and how I can make choices that reduce my footprint and waste and also influence others to start thinking in a similar direction. Our generation has the responsibility to do something about the changes we are now seeing on our planet and create an awareness for sustainability. The earth existed for hundreds of years without humans; it does not need us to survive. What people forget at times is that we are nothing without the earth; humankind relies on the planet and it is essential to our survival. We need the earth to survive; but it doesn’t need us. We must make decisions that coexist with that belief and that set us on the path to preserve the planet for generations to come.
