Dear future generation,

Today is November 26 of 2019 and right now we are living in a world where nature is dying. Currently, there have been many forest fires going especially a few weeks ago the Amazon forest was burning. I hope that later in the year 2050 there will still be forests because honestly right now there are so many fires going on. I am afraid that one day my children won’t be living in a world where there is no clean oxygen or water. There are many species that are going extinct for example polar bears and their habitats are melting. The issue of climate change is something that should be taken seriously but many people keep claiming that it is not real.

Today there are currently many types of renewable energy that we can use and there are individuals who install solar panels in their homes. Unfortunately,  solar panels are sometimes hard to afford and not many people want to switch to renewable energy. I hope that one day the whole world will stop using oil and natural gas as energy sources. If the usage of oil and natural continues then climate change will only be getting worse.

I promise that I will take action to ensure the safety of the world. One thing that I plan to do is that I will purchase a car that can is powered by electricity. Also when I purchase a home I will install solar panels in order to ensure that my house runs on renewable energy. I hope that one day the future generation will be living in a world where renewable energy is being used more often than today. I hope that you will still have clean water to drink and clean air to breathe because right now there are many places where humans have water that is polluted. I promise that I will do my best to take action and inform more people about ways that we can help our planet.

Sincerely,

Adrián Contreras-Abrego The II

More Messages to the Future

Hey kiddo,

I’ll be here to tell you all the ways I have fought for the health of our home, and fought to protect all of the wide, open spaces for you to run in. When you’re old enough, we can fight together.

dear future people (:

I am writing this message to you guys. When I look outside my window today, I see a beautiful world that others and myself call “home sweet home.” The trees glimmering in warm sunlight, the air stirring a cool breeze, and the water flowing down rivers are parts of our home Mother Earth.

Dear Tomorrow,

I have solar and will be getting an electric car next week

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to be creative – make art!

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to educate myself and others about how we can protect and nourish our 1 PLANET

Dear Future Self,

More than getting through a global pandemic that has already taken hundreds of thousands of lives around the world, our true feat is even larger: to secure our long-term health and the health of the ecosystems upon which we depend for life. To do that, we have to cut our emissions in half in the next ten years, and continue to reduce it beyond that. And to succeed in that, we need to fundamentally shift the way we do EVERYTHING.

To my future Niece,

While I will work my hardest to create any positive change I can, you must continue this quest. You cannot give up hope, and you must always remember that the beauty on this Earth is worth saving.

Dear Future Sami Lee,

Everyone currently in life laughs and yells save the bees. We were a bee this year for Halloween and Lucy even came up with a great slogan “get with it honey”.

Dear Tomorrow

I will teach my children about a greener earth.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to clean the earth.

Dear Alyssa,

I pray that more and more fathers will realize that to love their children well, they have to love and respect the ecological systems around them too.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will only use renewable energy.
