Dear future children,

With the recent election of Trump and the immoral policy changes he intends to enact, I’m angry and ashamed to be represented by the current U.S. government. His complete denial of the existence of climate change and his lack of support for programs like the EPA has made me feel discouraged about our country’s future environmental policies. However, seeing all of the people committed to saving the planet at the People’s Climate March a few weeks ago renewed my hope for the future. After feeling so alone in my concerns, and helpless to enact real change, it was inspiring to see so many people fighting for the same things that I want.

With my experiences encountering natural beauty in places like our national parks, it saddens me that people are willing to destroy the environment for economic benefits. Fracking, mining, and oil spills, have certainly damaged much of our environment, but there is still so much worth saving.

I hope that the globe can come together to fight climate change and environmental degradation in time to prevent more irreversible damage from being done. I will fight for your right to have clean water and air, and I promise to do my best to protect Earth’s amazing biodiversity for you to experience in the future.

Dear Tomorrow-My letter to the future 2030

I am most sorry we could not work through our differences, and see through the greed, get organized, and do more so that you could have a better life in your 2030 future.

Dear future generations,

My hope for you is that you can have equal experiences with nature that I was able to have with my dad.

To My Future Children,

Most importantly, I hope you live in a world where science is taken seriously and fact is clearly distinguished from fiction.

Dear son,

Everyone should be grow at least 100 trees in his lifetime.

To my Dad,

I hope on this Father’s Day, my 24th birthday, and the rest of days, we remember that the most basic part of life is living happy with the ones we love. Acting every day against climate change will allow us to keep that simple piece of humanity.

Dear Me of Tomorrow,

I plan to plant more things this spring, as we do every year in our garden.

Dear Tomorrow,

This is just the beginning. It’s the accrual of little seeds of change that will lead to the tree of revolution.

Dear next generation,

I hope that by the time you’re reading this, things have changed and people have started to protect the earth
