Hi. I want you to know that I’m doing what I can to make sure you’ll have a home. I won’t bring you into this world before knowing that it’ll at least outlast your generation. That would be ridiculously unfair. Marches, strikes, petitions, and conferences have been happening at a very rapid speed. People are requesting change and the leaders who won’t be going alone with that will soon be out of the way. We need change. We need leaders who will enact change. And we will get that. I will get that. For you.

This lead me to my final project, which focused on reforming the education system to incorporate sustainability classes into the current curriculum.

In writing to you, I realize that I don’t want you to be hard on yourself if you choose to not make this your cause. But it is mine, so I hope that you hold me accountable to some of what I wrote here.

Dear Tomorrow,

My climate promise is to use a refillable bottle, bring my own resusable spoon/form wherever I go, use clean personal care products (without chemicals).

To My Dear Children, Jackson Carlo and Stella Jane,

I am a better person because of you, and I want the world to be a better place for you.

Dear Tomorrow,

I’ll buy only food that I plan to eat before it spoils.

To my Kids,

I wish you all the best and always make sure that you can be proud of yourself and don’t need status-symbols for feeling nice.

Dear Daughter,

Tonight at bedtime, you asked, seemingly out of nowhere, “why are the glaciers disappearing?”

Dear Nafia,

I also hope that your previous prayers have been answered. The way you wanted to create green jobs for your fellow city dwellers have been fulfilled already.

Dear Me of Tomorrow,

I plan to plant more things this spring, as we do every year in our garden.

Dear Kaydence,

I will keep trying Kaydence, I promise. And I hope we can look back together in 2050 and smile, knowing that our Earth is healthy once again.

Dear Tristan,

I am doing this to protect you, the food, water, air and biodiversity of a country that I love.
