I’m writing this in hopes that one day these will be problems of the past. The natural world is something very sacred to me and the extent to which we are damaging it brings pain to my soul. The beauty and grace that still prevails in our world is my inspiration to bring about change. I plan to do so through my education, spirit, and determination. I may play a small role but, I hope where you are can see a change.

I realize my reflection of the past, current and future state of the environment paints a grim and pessimistic picture, but I feel optimistic in our ability to turn planet Earth’s fate around if we all work together and commit to making a change.

I can only say that I devoted myself to doing as much as I could to make it better, to provide for a just transition, and to fight those forces that continued to exploit the Eaarth with extractive methods, methods that always also included oppressing some people–because those doing the oppression believed that they were better and deserved more.

I commit to you to change one thing a year in our lifestyle to live more environmentally friendly.
Dear Future
My hope is for all who live in your time to still know the joy of swimming in the ocean, walking through the woods, and hiking in the mountains.
