Dear Emma,

I fear where you may be right now. I have seen how the climate is affecting people now and if we keep traveling on our perilous path I can’t imagine how it will affect people by 2050. Lands are of the verge of drowning, an entire continent is in flames, and drought-borne wars are plaguing the Middle East. I can imagine how this can grow apocalyptic by 2050. Of course, I can also see myself doing fine in such a dangerous world, but I do not wish for you to be there. Not that you can’t handle it, you attack me all the time so I know that you can put up a fight if you had to. I just don’t want you to have to be there. I will work endlessly to mend the human relationship with Nature, whom we have separated ourselves from long by now. Hopefully, I can help make so that we have the same range of impact on Earth as the rest of life. Then, if all goes well you and many others can share a relationship with nature that is much more healthy than the one we share now. I’m in my first year of college and I am learning and building plans that will help me fight this climate crisis. Hopefully, the future will be full of flying, environmentally savvy vehicles and hover boards, self drying clothing, pizzas that you can hydrate and cook from small to large in a matter of seconds, and maybe a DeLorean, instead of high seas, drought, fire, and war.

Your Brother,

Wyatt Day
