Dear Children,

Climate change is incredibly real and incredibly scary. Though it may seem too big of a task to bear on your shoulders, take it head on anyways, as I plan to. It is imperative for my future, which is also yours, to sacrifice many behaviors that harm your environment (long showers, supporting big food corporations, using non-renewable energy). Instead, eat and purchase organically and sustainably, take short and cooler showers, use appliances sparingly, always search for more ways to be environmentally friendly.

More Messages to the Future

Dear Future Kids Like Me,

What I hope for future kids like me is that they continue to ride the groundswell of climate change support all the way into action.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise to use my reusable water bottle more often

Dear Alanna and Valeria,

I promise you to keep trying, to keep educating, to keep pushing our elected officials to act and protect your health now and in the future.

Dear my future family,

I will promise to help climate change as much as I can.

Dear Tomorrow,

My climate promise is to reduce electricity at home. I will turn off the TV and lights when I’m not in the room.

Dear Tomorrow,

I promise I will do everything I can to help fight against climate change.

Dear My Future Child,

I want to sculpt a world for you where you can play outside without gas masks, an ocean to swim in without toxins, and a thick lively forest for you to wander.

Dear Annie and Eric,

I hope that this life of good things is not just yours to enjoy, but that you also have decided to fight for others to have this life, too.

Dear friend,

I will fight for this cause and I will never ever give up because we, the youngsters, are the hope.

Dear Nephew,

I am going to start doing better to have a healthier planet for you to live on.

Dear Kai and Leah,

I want you to feel awestruck like I do. It is important to feel small sometimes, to feel the weight of reality, to recognize the scale of a challenge, to see where you fit and what you are up against. This is the case with climate change.

To my dear children in the year 2050,

I don’t wish to go backwards, but I do wish we would slow down and design our brave new world with more care.
