In short, I cared a lot but didn’t do much. I tried to limit my personal impact by recycling obsessively, unplugging things, lowering our heat (despite your father’s whining) and taking public transport. But let’s be honest, your dad and I flew constantly, I don’t recall giving money to organizations trying to impact climate change, I wasn’t careful with who I voted for and I never did any organizing beyond signing petitions. I don’t know why I didn’t. I was interested and passionate, but it all seemed too abstract and far away and I wasn’t sure what I could do anyways whereas there were things that were right there that seemed easier to act on and help with. I’m sorry.
