I promise to try everyday to limit my carbon footprint. I hope that by the year 2050 we will have significantly reduced our carbon footprint, and I hope that my children can live in a safe, healthy world. I promise to make the planet a safe place to live when my children grow up. And I pray that they do not have to make promises like this.

I will stop using plastic and will plant trees. I will also not waste water and electricity.

It was 2020, the year I realized that life is fragile—not just mine, but the entire planet—through immense consumption, pollution, greediness, ignorance, false bliss. This wasn’t the way I wanted to live my life, so I promise to actively make the change.
Dear Tomorrow,
I promise I will encourage everyone to get OUT of their cars and onto public transit.
For my children,
If we haven’t done enough and the world you’re living on is apocalyptic or if you’re living on another planet then I’m deeply sorry and just know that I believe in you and I know that you are both strong and smart enough to handle anything.
My dear daughters,
I will use my voice to help bring awareness about climate change.
Dear girls,
I love you and I care deeply about your future.
To the generation after mine,
But when you encounter that resistance–and you will, regularly–know that you must respond just how we have had to these past 50 years. With love, and sternness, and most of all, courage. Because that is what the resistance fears the most. We who came before you promise that we will do the same while we wait for you. Know that you will never be alone.
